Back from extended break…Now what?!
Just taking a moment to let you all know I am back from my extended break. I needed some time to get things sorted out in my life and to figure out what direction to head in for this website.
It has been a long time since I first started this website back in 2007 and I do no think I ever really put the time and/or effort into making it what I had originally envisioned. It had been bothering me for some time, but I was not willing to let go of that until I took the past few months off and really gave myself a chance to think things through instead of ignoring the facts.
So, I am back and more motivated that ever before. Why? What changed?
To be perfectly honest, I have matured a lot over the past 3-4 years and have a much better understanding of how the internet really works, and yet I really no nothing at all.
I’d like to look forward, but for just a moment I will say: in the past I cared about this website only out of desire to share knowledge about computers and tech stuff, but expected way too much out of myself, becoming discouraged and/or overwhelmed that I could not produce the high-quality tutorials that I thought would “really help people“.
The big difference now is that instead of overburdening myself with visions of grandeur, I will share my passion and knowledge in other ways. I will write more frequently, but probably shorter/simpler posts. I will use my experience in finding useful information over the internet to share that info (in the form of links following my little blurbs) and let the “experts” do the heavy lifting.
Finally, I want to do more and branch out. The internet is a big place and yet so small when you think about it. I want to share some of my other passions (besides computers). Why should I restrict my own website to writing about technical stuff when I can write about other things I enjoy as well… Like books, comic books, movies, games, and etc.?!
If you care to share your thoughts, please do so, I am curious to hear/read what you might think. You can leave a comment directly hear on the website, on facebook, or reach me via twitter…
